Aug 8th

A Wonderful visit from President Olsen, 1st counsellor in the Temple Presidency, and his wife, who just happens to be my cousin.

We went on a boat to Qamea Island to see a man and his family that works at the Temple.




A volcanic rock just off the shore of Qamea.



A coral reef displayed beautiful green waters and colourful fish. The Blue starfish were spectacular.

Many little villages lined the shores of Qamea.



We stopped at the Dreketi Village.


We were able to visit with Sister Davuke and her son Ulaiasi.

They were taking care of Sister Davuke's elderly Father....

And Mother....

They were happy for our visit. they said we blessed their home.



They are the only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in this village.

This is a privately owned Island we believe is called Lakota . The rich and Famous spend time here...





The Qamea Resort has people from our Island working there.

This island has a pearl farm on it.

Also a Lovely resort.



Lovely white Sand Beaches....









Back on Taveuni as a couple of ladies do the laundry ...



Then off to Lavena..

The Rotary has started rebuilding the school.

Today they celebrate Kinde-Day.

A Tournament of rugby...


Lots of happy children.


The school manager is happy to visit with us.

Many bring picnic foods to join in the fun.

President and Sister Olsen enjoy the white beaches and sunny weather.

We stopped at the lower Bouma Falls for a few pictures.

Bringing in our Primary Teachers...


A Great work Meeting to prepare for our Children's Sacrament Presentations which will be held in a few months.





The Vuna Boar hole has water ready to pipe to villages in the surrounding areas.



Sister Chand is ready to leave to Suva then on to her mission in London South, England.

She excitedly says her goodbyes.


Her mom and Dad are not members of our Church, nut are delighted at her choice to serve a Mission.




The village come out to say goodbye.




She will stay overnight with the sister missionaries before she leaves on the boat.
Another day comes to a lovely end.

A truckload of produce on the boat.

The Young Women of Somosomo branch enjoy a lesson on Temple marriage.
