June 10th

Exciting news for the Kaseti Family!
The little boy they thought they were expecting is a sweet baby girl.
They have called her Karen Adele Kaseti.

Sister Vermeeren is so honoured to have a little namesake in Taveuni, Fiji!

Little Karen is a cutie!

Grandma is delighted with her new little granddaughter.

What a sweet friendship we have. What an unexpected tribute. Love this lady!

We will always cherish the love and friendships we have found in Taveuni!

Part of Fiji will always remain in my heart!

Delivery day for the boxes from Sydney, Australia.

Our Volunteers return to help.

We decide on numbers and areas....

Loading the boxes with individual bags. Over 300  bags leaving to
South Taveuni families.

The Rotary Club has kindly donated a truck for the deliveries..

Brother and Sister Singh.
And a couple of pick up trucks are loaded too!

Our happy crew is on it's way.

Making our way through a less travelled road, cross- country to Delavuna.

Sydney, Australia's gift are welcomed gratefully.

Sister Francis was responsible for making this all happen.Bags of assorted items are delivered to many  families..

Sister Francis was pleased with smiles of gratitude..

Many families were blessed to be recipients.

Thank You To All the donators from Sydney, Australia, Sister Francis for organizing and making it happen, and to all the volunteers here in Taveuni for their kind service.

Families directed us to other families in need.

Stopping for a fresh treat. Paul and Pela break open a fresh coconut.

Delicious. (Totoka!)

Next to Salialevu , an area very remote and off the beaten path.

Many families had chimneys  only remaining from their homes.

A sugar cane stack that once was used in this Koro. (village)

The school remains severely damaged. It appeared that help had not come out to this area of the island.
Many  families were sharing one home.

Eight families lived in the community centre.
Families were very grateful for help.

A beautiful koro with hand hewn wooden walking bridges.

We drove across a stream to reach some of the homes..

Sister Vermeeren became a photo bomber!

Taveuni has stunning beauty.

A cloth is frequently used to cover ones head from the sun or rain.

Happy Families everywhere.

What a great place to hang the laundry!

Amazing waves..

And beaches.

A once used storage facility for the sugar mill.

This is the community centre where eight families reside.

Paul and Pela keep us entertained!

The roads are lush and green.

Navakawau Village.

The kindergarten is still unused. The little ones meet in a tent.

This class was very photogenic..

One must pinch themselves to appreciate the constant beauty Taveuni constantly displays.

Digicel is considering placing a tower in Navakawau. As of now there is no communication there.

Wonderful! School is out for the day!

They are still working on school repairs.

Smiles abound everywhere!

The donations have arrived.

Unloading begins.

Elder McKee and Elder Jones work hard in Navakawau!

People from the Koro anxiously await the distributions.

Another Successful day comes to a close!

School items were dropped off at four schools today.
Salialevu school, Navakawau Catholic, Vuna District, and South Taveuni.
Each school received a little token of Love from Sydney, Australia.

                                                          Blessed to be in Fiji!
