Sept 14th

Lots of deliveries this week, A Primary party, Father's Day, and our new Navakawau Group...
Our Strong Elders help us load our new volleyball poles. 

The villagers are pleased to help us load the poles into the "Bush Chapel"  The  entire village will enjoy these even if they are not members.

These flowers look very much like white poinsettias.

Priesthood meeting in Vuna Branch. Because they have only a "Bush " Chapel , the primary is inside and all other auxiliaries meet outside. We have ordered a awning tent for them in the event of rain.

Father's day preparations,,

It's Father's Day in Fiji. They celebrate Fathers day the second Sunday in September. All the young women made cupcakes .

The primary made little notes and tied them with ribbon.

The fathers were seated in the area behind the chapel and presented with their father's day treats.

So fun to see the gifts presented.



This is the average  home grown dinner here. Today it is a Father's day lunch.

LDS charities have been sending barrel for the people in Vuna. There is a drought. The people put the barrels out on the road and the government fills them with water if they have drums there.  

With all this water around us, the have a shortage of fresh water on the South side of Taveuni.

The children are always playing in large groups, they never have toys, they invent their own fun games.

This home in Navakawau will be used as a chapel for our new group.

Everyone is so happy to have a place to meet. They had been walking for many hours to attend church before.

This is the official first meeting of the group.

The call themselves the Pioneers. There children and grandchildren will remember this for ever.

Next week we will deliver volley ball poles, net and ball to Qeleni Branch!


Branch President Alafi is pleased to have the poles. This is something they have wanted for a long time. Life is Good!
