The rainbows are huge and beautiful. You can usually see the full arch in the sky!
The banana trees are along side many roads. People just pick bananas off the trees for snacks. We have several banana trees in our back yard.
The machinery on this island is generally very old. Actually most things on this island are seconds or donations. New clothing for instance is not easily available in Taveuni. Large bags of clothes come over on the boat. The shop owners sort them and sell them.
These people came over from Labasa to join our volleyball tournament.
The Somosomo chapel is the largest building on the Island.
This is our friend Michael . He works with his sister, Vischeel at the internet shop. He is so kind to help us set up for our movie nights.
We set up a few hours before the event.
It quickly gets dark here, a few minutes after six. If it wasn't for the outdoor lights, that run on a solar system, it is so dark, you can not see the back of your hand.

These are the hourly wages for the coconut plant workers in Taveuni Fiji.They are similar to the wages in Canada in the early 70's.
Anything that is not grown on the Island is very expensive. It would take many days wages for simple things.

More wage information sheets. Most Fijians must live primarily off the land. They use every plant fully. They fish daily. The children carry in wood and other necessities.
This is the Vuna Chapel. Elder Noble and Elder Brown work in this area. Loam has been added to the grounds to level the area for volley ball games. We will be putting poles into concrete filled tires to hang a net on.
This is a new tower being errected in town for internet service.
