Celebrations....
Elder and Sister Martin from the Audit department ..They are a lovely Salt Lake Couple who began their mission two months ago.They assigned to Suva and travel through out the islands.

Elder Gunderson turns 21, great to have them with us for a few days!

Taking the Martins to Lavena Coast walk..

The kids are enjoying their bamboo rafts as they go fishing..




Amazing the varieties of beautiful flowers there are here!

This is a Yoga Mat that is being made.

This is the plant that is dried in the sun and cut into to produce the woven items.

This Fishing net also doubles as a sleeping hammock..


Carlos was our guide as we walked the Lavena Coastal Walk with the Martin's.

 A Passing Farmer shows us his cut Kava ...It will be boiled , dried and pounded before it is used.

A Fallen night flower..It blooms at night ,  then falls off the tree at sunrise...


There is a lot of Volcanic lava rocks in Taveuni. There is an area of black sand on this beach walk.

There are many beautiful waterfalls in Taveuni!



Carlos climbs up the tree. to get us a fresh green coconut..these are the best to drink the coconut milk from.



Pedestal rocks, as the tide comes in they look like a regular rock in the water...


Carlos offered me his machette!!!!!!Guess I'll go get the next coconut!




Such a little sweetie! This is used to cart large items and also as a childs toy. This one is missing a wheel!



The village takes care of the bridge and pathways, the fee charged for walking this path is shared among the villagers.

So many lovely waterfalls to see..This really is a beautiful place!

The water was much smoother than our Rabi Island trip!

A feast is held...



Her Family.. Her Father carved a key and presented it to her as a symbol of a new beginning in her life. She is now fully responsible for her future.

The Elders are delighted to be included.

So unexpected, She presents me with a turtle painted Tappa cloth , painted by her mother...A Real Honour!

So Beautiful!!!! I am totally thrilled!
