April 10th

New Beginnings in Taveuni...

This morning a new little colt stood by his mother...

Papaya, and other crops are brought to the jetty....

Our Taveuni missionaries return from Labasa.....

How Wonderful to see their happy smiles and renewed eagerness to serve...

After quickly changing , a service project to move the sisters to a different flat, awaits our missionaries.....

Their service is much appreciated....

Then back to their areas ......

We passed by a group playing water rugby!

School is done for the day...

Many load the bus for a long ride home....

Sister Maiwiriwiri is always helping someone, she is a great example to us....
We are grateful to see the beautiful flowers returning to our garden Island of Taveuni ...

A interesting piece of driftwood.......

It is unusual to see a child's toy.....

Dr. Rick  Nielson and his wife, Ann, sent us a box of remaining glasses from their clinics when they returned to Canada. The  Navakawau villagers gratefully received over 100 pair. They were pleased to improve their sight as the read.

Our missionaries went through the village encouraging people  to come ....

We also had some sun glasses, that were gratefully received...

Many people benefitted from the generosity of the Nielson's..

We plan to hold another "clinic" in Lavena soon.....

The Navakawau kindergarden will need repairing again...Cyclone Zena although it passed by us , did provide enough wind and rain to make it's presence known.

Barefoot children play on piles of rubble....

The villager's try to use whatever they can find to rebuild.....

The children enjoy having a  "spitting" water fight .....

Building a fort with scrap wood....

Using a rock for a hammer....

Sister Lokotui and Sister Elias happily share their smiles....

A helicopter lands at the Matei Airport...

Today we celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary..

As the sun glitters on the Somosomo strait....

we are grateful to see and appreciate the amazing beauty here....
