  Friends, New Elders arrive on Taveuni, and Baptisms...

Yippee! Rain in Vuna!

There is a lot of volcanic rock on Taveuni Island.







A baptismal interview with Caroline. She was late getting home. We went to the school to find the Bus had broken down. She usually has a long walk (about 5 kilometres) after the bus drops her off. Notice she has no shoes.


Sea shell fan's are made to sell at the market.

The woven mat will  also be sold at a craft show.

Gardenia's are is bloom in various colours.

Bats are always  hanging out of the fruit trees during the day. They are the size of small cats.

This is where #37 mail box is. All the mail that comes to this island for the church is picked up here daily by us.
Elder Noble and Brown prepare to help with barrel deliveries.

There is an amazing variety of flowers on this Island. They are so colourful. Each has it's own beauty.

Our New Elders arrive, Elder Carter and Elder Alonzo are safety in their new areas. 

We welcome...Elder Jonutz from Lincoln , California.

and Elder Tera from Tahiti...

Elder Sarufa, Elder Tera, Elder Barnaby and Elder Jonutz.

Elder Jonutz and Elder Barnaby are now companions in Matei..

The cold tile floor feels good. the sisters enjoy visiting ....

Another  baptism, we average about 15 a month with our six Elders.

Adi is 16, she is happy to have her family here with her. Elder Sarufa and Elder Tera join them.

Everyone loves a good visit.

Elder Noble and Elder Brown pose with little 9 year old Caroline. She is the first baptism in Navakawau Village since it became a group this month.

This is Elder Brown's  first time to perform the baptism. 



Caroline's Grandmother Angela ( Pronounce Angala) is happy to see Caroline baptized.

Everyone walks back to the home that is being used for the Meetinghouse.

Caroline looks radiant.

This is our Navakawau Group primary. It is nice not to walk 2 hours to meetings now.

This is the Vuna Branch presidency.

The children LOVE the Elders.

This is our YSA group (Young Single Adult) taking a self reliance course. This teaches them how to confident and prepare for the future .


The man in the front is President Maiwirwiri, he is the district leader. Behind him on the left is President Alafi, the Vuna Branch President, then Joji (prounced- Cho Chee) who is preparing to go on a mission, and the Navakawau group leader, Elder Muri.
This is the path down to the ocean where 
Caroline was baptized.
