Weekend Adventures in Taveuni and Rabi Islands...
Outdoor "Pool Hall"

A villager passed away this week.

Some people are buried on their own properties.

The person is wrapped in  Hand woven mat.

This is a lovo, meals are prepared using hot rocks.

This is the hospital. A special volunteer medical  team has arrived for a week stay to do operations.

These are certificates on the wall for Doctors and interns.

This weekend the Harwoods, Knights and Terry's were  here. We all enjoyed a pizza treat.

A windy boat ride to Rabi island.

We are standing in front of the Rabi Chapel.

The Rabi Elders in their kitchen.

Their study area.

Their storage area.

Their bedroom.

A turtle shell .

Woven fan

A candy treat.

Sister Terry, Sister Knight, and Sister Vermeeren.

Posing with happy lollipopped kids!

Rabi Primary.

The trip home was an experience. Water in the boat was around our ankles. There were no life vests.

Rough ocean and swells, The boat  continued to rise and to dropped 10 feet all the way home , a hour an a half ride . One of the Elders hurt himself as the boat rocked and thumped through the waves. Our boys would have been proud.

Soaked through!  (and much braver)

Glad to be back on beautiful land!
